English Proficiency Requirements
Students who earned a bachelor's degree in a country where English is not the official language and for whom English is not their first language must submit scores from the , or International English Language Testing System (), or exam that are no more than two years old.,
Please note that students that have been in the United States for less than 6 years will be required to submit an exam indicating proof of English proficiency.
For Lubin School of Business, a minimum TOEFL iBT® score of 80, a minimum TOEFL® Essentialsâ„¢ score of 8.5, a minimum overall IELTS score of 6.5, Pearson PTE academic score of 52, a minimum overall Duolingo score of 115, an ISE II Distinction in Trinity Exam or a Cambridge English B2 First, C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency score of 176 on Cambridge Exam is sufficient to demonstrate the required proficiency in English for admission directly into ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø programs.
For School of Education, a minimum TOEFL iBT® score of 88, a minimum TOEFL® Essentialsâ„¢ score of 9.5, a minimum overall IELTS score of 7.0, or a Pearson PTE academic score of 61 is sufficient to demonstrate the required proficiency in English for admission directly into ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø programs.
For Seidenberg School of CSIS, a minimum TOEFL iBT® score of 78, a minimum TOEFL® Essentialsâ„¢ score of 8.5, a minimum overall IELTS score of 6.5, Pearson PTE academic score of 52 ,a minimum overall Duolingo score of 115, an ISE II Distinction in Trinity Exam or a Cambridge English B2 First, C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency score of 176 on Cambridge Exam is sufficient to demonstrate the required proficiency in English for admission directly into ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø programs.

For Communication and Digital Media, a minimum TOEFL iBT® score of 100, a minimum TOEFL® Essentialsâ„¢ score of 10.5, a minimum overall IELTS score of 7.5, or a Pearson PTE academic score of 68, or a minimum overall Duolingo score of 130, an ISE III Distinction in Trinity Exam or a Cambridge English B2 First, C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency score of 191 on Cambridge Exam is sufficient to demonstrate the required proficiency in English for admission directly into ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø’s Communication and Digital Media program.
For the Accelerated BS in Nursing, Health Informatics, Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant (Pleasantville), and Public Health programs, a minimum TOEFL iBT® score of 88, a minimum TOEFL® Essentialsâ„¢ score of 9.5, a minimum overall IELTS score of 7.0, a Pearson PTE academic score of 61, or a minimum overall Duolingo score of 115 is sufficient to demonstrate the required proficiency in English for admission directly into ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø programs.
For the Communication Sciences & Disorders, Nutrition & Dietetics, PhD in Nursing, and Physician Assistant (NYC) programs, a minimum TOEFL iBT® score of 100, a minimum TOEFL® Essentialsâ„¢ score of 10.5, a minimum overall IELTS score of 7.5, a Pearson PTE academic score of 68, or a minimum overall Duolingo score of 130 is sufficient to demonstrate the required proficiency in English for admission directly into ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø programs.
ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø accepts TOEFL® Essentialsâ„¢, MyBestâ„¢ scores for the TOEFL iBT® test, in addition to TOEFL iBT scores from a single test date.

Students affected by center closures
For international students affected by testing centers closures due to the coronavirus (COVID-19), ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø has temporarily approved the use of the Duolingo English test in place of the in-person TOEFL, IELTS and PTE English proficiency exams.
Exam Information and Cost
The exam cost is $49 (USD) and may be taken from any computer that has a camera, audio and reliable internet. The exam portion of the Duolingo English test contains a series of speaking, reading, writing and listening exercises. Following the exam, there will be an interview portion that will ask you to respond to various prompts in 30 to 90 seconds. The exam will take about 45 minutes to complete and you will need either a passport, driver license, or national or state ID to show the camera. The score results are generally received within a few days of exam completion.
A verification email will be sent to you a few days after completing the exam containing a link to send your score to ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø.
