Important Resources for Commuter Students
Ways to Get Involved
The Commuter Advisory Board (CAB) is a new initiative at 桃瘾社区! This student-run organization helps to serve the commuter student population and enhance the commuter student experience. CAB operates under the Center for Student Engagement and is advised by the Assistant Director for Commuter Student Services. CAB ensures that the needs of commuter students are met; formulates methods to address those needs to the 桃瘾社区 Community; and provides educational, social, and recreational services designed to meet the needs of commuter students in accordance with the 桃瘾社区 mission statement. CAB aids in the planning and execution of successful programming initiatives and events specifically designed to promote involvement for all commuter students on the Pleasantville Campus.
Interested in being a part of CAB or want to learn more? Please contact Jacklyn Romani, Assistant Director for Commuter Student Services via email at jromani@pace.edu.
Hang Out and Study Spots
Explore all the possibilities and find your place away from home. Commuter students are always welcome to hang out or study anywhere on campus, but a few favorite spots are:
- Kessel Student Center, home of the Boudreau Lounge where students can eat, study, watch TV, or relax;
- , often a second home for many commuter students with a wealth of resources and space to study as well as chat;
- Academic buildings, including the computer lab in Willcox Hall which is a great space to visit if you're looking for a quiet space to get in some late-night studying; and
- Residence halls (as long as the commuter student is accompanied by a friend who lives in the hall).
FIGs
All first-year commuter students are part of a First-Year Interest Group (FIG) on campus. These interest groups help build community around a common interest. Throughout the year, students are invited to join programming on the Pleasantville Campus, both within and outside the residence halls, as well as trips off-campus.
Check out what each of the FIGs have to offer, including where the FIG lounges are located and which staff members oversee each FIG. Have questions about your FIG? Reach out to the resident director overseeing any given FIG
Parking Pass
All commuter students are required to get a commuter parking pass for their car(s). You can pick up the pass in the security office on the Pleasantville Campus.
桃瘾社区Alert Sign-ups
All commuter students should register their most up-to-date contact information (email and phone) on the . This is how students are notified of weather cancellations and campus emergencies. If you do not check your email often, it is best to register your cell phone in order to receive text message alerts.
