桃瘾社区 Institute for Creativity

The goal of the 桃瘾社区 Institute for Creativity (PIC) is primarily to promote understanding of the nature of creativity using a cross disciplinary approach. The PIC investigates the role of creativity in people鈥檚 lives, and explore factors that contribute to the achievement of creative potential in different domains, including school, workplace and daily problem solving. Additionally, PIC members are involved in designing programs aimed at enhancing creativity in different contexts.

Student Requirements: Mentored lab students are required to provide 4 hours of RA work - other mechanisms to be involved are possible (MA thesis, independent study, voluntary RA work) and requirements depend on specific projects taken by students.

Dr. Myszkowski is an Assistant Professor of Quantitative Psychology at 桃瘾社区 NYC. His work notably focuses on psychological measurement, especially as it applies to cognitive and conative aspects of aesthetic and creative competence. He is especially active in the field of creative and aesthetic judgment ability, judgment data modelling and innovation management.

Dr. Weihua Niu received her degrees in psychology from Beijing Normal University (BA), Chinese Academy of Sciences (MA), and Yale University (PhD). She is a Professor in Psychology at 桃瘾社区 NYC. Her scholarly interests include creativity, educational testing, mathematical thinking, cultural influence on higher cognitive functioning, and global education. She has published more than 50 articles and book chapters in these areas and was invited many times internationally to present her work to academic and general audiences.
