October 1, 2024 - 2024 Learning Outcomes Reception

Join us for our annual Learning Outcomes Reception and hear from our summer 2024 Wilson Center Funded Interns as they present their learning outcomes of their respective summer internships at nonprofits, social enterprises and social impact agencies across the NYC metro area. The event will be held in the evening on Tuesday, October 1 at 6:00 p.m. in the Bianco Room at 15 Beekman Street, food and drinks will be provided.

September 19, 2024 - Annual Volunteer Fair

Join us on Thursday, September 19 at 12:00 pm in the Bianco Room at 15 Beekman Street for an informative afternoon, at CCAR's annual Volunteer Fair. We will be tabling at this event and connecting ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø students with volunteer activities and informing them or potential internship opportunities at local nonprofit organizations, government agencies and social enterprises across the NYC metro area. The fair is a chance for students to get involved with volunteering, advocacy, and activism on campus and in the New York City community.

May 30, 2024 - Summer Internship Program Orientation

On Thursday, May 30 the Helene and Grant Wilson Center for Social Entrepreneurship will hosts its summer internship program orientation event for its 2024 cohort of funded summer interns. Over the summer months, our interns will be working full-time positions at lol nonprofit organizations, social enterprises and nonprofits across the NY metro area, funded by the Wilson Center. This event kicks off our annual summer program providing interns with the opportunity to connect with one another, complete the onboarding process and learn more about the Wilson Center and their internship expectations this coming summer.

April 9, 2024 - UWWP Nonprofit Leadership Summit

As a long-standing partner of the United Way of Westchester and Putnam we're thrilled to co-sponsor Annual Nonprofit Leadership Summit, on Tuesday, April 9 at the Performing Arts Center at Purchase College. Each year, the summit attracts up to 500 nonprofit leaders and employees throughout the region, a number of which are ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø Alumni working in this sector. This yearly gathering is an opportunity for mid-level employees and managers in the nonprofit sector, the largest employment sector in the region, to learn about innovative strategies that can support, sustain and grow their organizations during times of change.

October 31, 2023 - Wilson Center Faculty Fellowship Research Seminar

Join us Tuesday, October 31 at 12:10 p.m. for a virtual Wilson Center Faculty Fellowship Research Seminar, presented by Seidenberg’s Professor James Lawler. Prof. Lawler will share his funded research outcomes "A Case Study for Enabling Autistic Students to Enter Best-of-Class Career Programs in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)", which was recently awarded Best Conference Paper and Best Paper of the Innovative Education, Pedagogy and Teaching Track at the 59th Annual Meeting of the Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS), in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on October 4–6. July 23, 2019 - Fourth Annual Lunch & Learn Event

This annual event provides our cohort of summer funded interns with the opportunity to visit a unique nonprofit organization, Hudson River Park Friends. Wilson Center interns had the opportunity to learn about the history of Hudson River Park, the longest riverfront park in the nation. In addition to learning about the important mission of this nonprofit, students also engaged with field scientists to analyze environmental DNA collected in the Hudson River. The luncheon also allowed our student interns to meet one another, network and share their full-time work experiences in the social impact sector.

Wilson Center Staff and a small group of students volunteers at God's Lover We Deliver, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other serious illnesses by alleviating hunger and malnutrition.

May 2, 2019 - 6th Annual True Partnerships Event

Our annual True Partnerships series showcases best practices in collaborations for social impact, this year's event: Best Practices in Collaborations for a Social Impact, A Conversation with the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) will be held at 163 William Street, 18th floor at 5:00 p.m. Learn more about the global collaboration of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) and its role in achieving the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons which later led to ICAN becoming a recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2017. In partnership with the College of Health Professions, the Wilson Center's Community Solutions Fellow, Cynthia Johnson presents "Communication Across Borders" where she will discuss the importance of cultural competency and its impact in rehabilitating communities in her home country of Sierra Leone, this brown bag lunch event will be held on the Pleasantville Campus, Lienhard Hall Room L20.

October 4, 2018 - A Conversation with Cynthia Johnson: Trafficking in Sierra Leone

Join us for this informative discussion led by Cynthia Johnson, Wilson Center's Community Solutions Fellow through the U.S. Department of State. Cynthia will discuss and share her experiences of rehabilitating victims of human trafficking in her home country, Sierra Leone.
