Why Commuter Life?

Whether you’re living in your family home in Queens, or you’ve moved into a 3-bedroom with your friends in FiDi, you’re a commuter. Commuter students make up half of the population at ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø and deserve equitable and reputable services and programs in comparison to those who live on campus. Through the Office of Student Engagement, Commuter Life provides opportunities and resources to students who live outside of University-sanctioned housing to ensure that they are being given an equitable college experience at ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø. Commuter Life is a brand new program at ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø, so don’t miss out on a chance to mold your time at ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø the way you want!

Dezer Commuter Den

The Dezer Commuter Den, located on the sublevel of 41 Park Row, is the premier space on campus for ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø NYC commuters. Stocked with vending machines, places to relax and study, and even a grand piano, the Den serves as a hub for everything commuter— it is the primary programming space for Commuter Life and has information on current and upcoming commuter programs. Drop in to study, attend an event, or even meet your ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø NYC Commuter Assistants during their office hours!

Commuter Assistants (CAs)

Commuter Assistants (or CAs) are student workers who provide support, resources, and programming for commuter students! This is a paid opportunity for commuter students to gain valuable leadership experience by working with the population at ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø. If you’re interested in becoming a Commuter Assistant or you would like to contact the team, Email The Center for Student Engagement.
