For 桃瘾社区 employees designated a permanent Work from Home position, it is important to ensure that your home can adequately support emulating a work environment as if you were working on campus.
Your home鈥檚 Internet connection is crucial in your ability to Work from Home productively. Internet Service Provider (ISP) plans and speeds vary and shared Internet connections within a family household can limit bandwidth available to you during the workday. Please consult with your ISP to find out the current plan and speed you are paying for (this is commonly found on your monthly bill). Visit the to help determine if you have enough bandwidth to support common tasks (ex. Video Conferencing) done throughout the workday at 桃瘾社区.
For your convenience, a Work from Home Laptop Bundle is available for purchase by your department found here: Work from Home Laptop Bundle. Included in the bundle is a standardized 桃瘾社区 laptop as well as accessories to maximize productivity and convenience when working from home. A minimum of two (2) electrical outlets within four (4) feet of your work area are required for this setup. The laptop is fully supported by 桃瘾社区 ITS and can be brought on campus for servicing and troubleshooting when onsite support is required.
We recommend that you prepare a defined space within your home for setting up your 鈥渉ome office鈥 where you can safely locate your equipment without having to pack it away at the end of each day. Look for articles on the Internet that suggest ways for creating the ultimate home office, one that makes you crazy productive, and happy too.
A few suggestions:
- Find a place that does not interfere with your home life and does not entice you back to work when you would normally be 鈥渁t home鈥.
- Make sure you have natural light and free yourself from that dark corporate cubical. Include a table lamp with a nice soft glow for the darker days/afternoons.
- Personalize your space as you would in the corporate office, adding pictures and greenery with plants.
- Remember to call your coworkers each day to keep up to date with office gossip.
