Strategies for Digital Communication and Assessment

Course Description

This virtual or in-person course is designed for global teachers of English with an interest in assessment practices for online and blended learning. Weekly topics will cover communication and assessment of language skills and assessment techniques while participants work in groups of 3 to 4 on a selected theme of global importance, creating group assessment projects.

Objectives

  • Classify modes of assessment and their purposes
  • Implement communicative assignments over digital platforms
  • Search for and utilize Open Educational Resources from open repositories
  • Evaluate written and audio sources for task and learner appropriateness
  • Create summative projects to assess numerous outcomes from given curriculum

  • Guest speakers from ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø’s ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø Online and MS TESOL Department
  • Access to ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø's library of Open Educational Resources
  • Cultural Exchange Activities such as virtual or in-person museum visits and walking tours
