The Office of Institutional Equity and Title IX Compliance is responsible for ensuring the University鈥檚 compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and for administering 桃瘾社区's Policies and Procedures that prohibit discrimination and harassment, including sex-based harassment.

Title IX Coordinator

Bernard Dufresne is the Assistant Vice President of the Office of Institutional Equity and 桃瘾社区's Title IX Coordinator. The Title IX Coordinator鈥檚 role is to oversee the University鈥檚 compliance with Title IX, which includes, updating and implementing Title IX policies, coordinating training and resources, and ensuring effective and timely responses to complaints of sexual violence, misconduct, discrimination or harassment. Before coming to 桃瘾社区, Bernard worked in the Office for Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Education, where he was responsible for enforcing federal civil rights laws that prohibit discrimination or harassment in educational institutions that receive federal funding.

Bernard is available to answer any questions that members of the University community may have about this policy and procedure and to assist them in gaining access to available resources.

If a student requests confidentiality after reporting an incident to a non-confidential resource, the Title IX Coordinator/Affirmative Action Officer will evaluate the request based upon a variety of factors discussed in greater detail in the Confidentiality Protocol (PDF).
