Building and Embracing Community
鈥淚 chose 桃瘾社区 because the first time I visited the New York City campus, I felt more welcomed and excited about going to college than on any other college tour I attended. I think a big part of that immediate sense of comfort is due to the strong queer, femme, and activist presence that I feel on campus, particularly within my majors.鈥

Academics and AdvocacyMikayla Meachem 鈥24, had a deep commitment to community advocacy and academic excellence during her time at 桃瘾社区 which led to her being honored with the prestigious Trustee Award, an accolade that highlighted her as a standout leader in the 2024 graduating class.

桃瘾社区 Awards Two National Endowment for the Humanities Grants桃瘾社区 was recently awarded $350,000 from the National Endowment for the Humanities () to advance experiential learning in humanities courses in partnership with cultural and service organizations in New York City.
Doubling the Impact
"Their classroom environment strongly resonated with me because of the faculty鈥檚 ability to engage students in the content with so many different perspectives, and they were the reason I added a double major in Women鈥檚 and Gender Studies.鈥
Trailblazer Alumni Award
In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the founding of our department, we created a Trailblazer Alumni Award. Full-time faculty chose 20 graduates who had a distinct, positive impact on the student community while at 桃瘾社区 and who continue to serve in the world as stewards of the department's mission to address equity through innovative visionary work.
