Students in the biochemistry and molecular biology program may find the activities of the 桃瘾社区 Chemistry Club, which is a student affiliate with the American Chemical Society (ACS), of particular interest. The ACS is the largest society devoted to a single discipline, consisting of over 160,000 members at all degree-levels and in all fields of chemistry. Students receive many benefits by being affiliated with ACS, including educational material, career information, summer internship opportunities, and discounts on journals. Students also have the opportunity to present their undergraduate research at the annual Undergraduate Research Symposium, which is sponsored by the New York Section of the ACS.
The 桃瘾社区 Chemistry Club hosts different activities that help students apply chemistry to the real word. These activities include guest speakers, tours to local points of scientific interest, including museums exhibits, as well as participation in National Chemistry Week. The club welcomes all science majors to join this club and to become a member of ACS.
