Dining Program

Meal Exchange Plan

The meal exchange plan is a hybrid program that consists of meal swipes, declining dining dollars, and flex dollars. Meal exchange plans can be used throughout the school year, from the first day of the semester to the end of the semester. This hybrid swipe plan is mandatory for first-year residential students.

Meal Swipes

Meal swipes allow students to purchase a complete meal consisting of a station main entrée that comes with station specific side where available, a side snack, and a beverage.

Meal swipes are allocated weekly depending on the meal plan you have selected: 10, 12, 15, or 17 swipes per week. Swipes in these plans replenish automatically on Sundays at 12:01 a.m. Unused swipes will roll-over to the following week up to a maximum of 30 swipes. Swipes expire at the end of each semester.

Declining Dining Dollars

All the meal plan options at ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø have a portion of declining balance funds made up of dining dollars that can be used at any of the on-campus dining locations. Funds are posted to the student account at the beginning of each semester and decline as each purchase is made. Unused dollars at the end of the fall semester roll forward for use in the spring semester. Unused dollars at the end of the spring semester do not roll over to the following academic year and are forfeited. All dining plans are sales tax free. Some plans have declining dining dollars only and no meal swipes.

Effective starting the 2021–2022 academic year, all incoming students, regardless of grade level, meal plan dollar (dining and flex) balances will rollover for the current academic year and must be used by end of the Spring semesters. Meal plan balances are non-refundable and unused funds will be forfeited. For students enrolled prior to July 1, 2021, the meal plan balances will continue to roll over until graduating or leaving the university, phasing out with the graduating class of 2024. Meal plan balances are non-refundable and unused funds will be forfeited.
