, DM is an award-winning voice teacher, performer, and music director. In addition to his studio work at 桃瘾社区, he maintains a busy private studio in NYC, and his students (including 桃瘾社区 alums) appear regularly on Broadway (Dear Evan Hansen, Caroline, or Change, Hamilton, Mean Girls, Kinky Boots, Beetlejuice & many other), off-Broadway, in national tours, and on TV & film.
He performs and teaches internationally with the Association of American Voices, and has music directed Broadway academies and tours in Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Indonesia and Turkmenistan, serving as a musical ambassador to countries in isolation, or recently coming out of it. A classically trained countertenor, Peter is at home in diverse operatic and concert repertoire. Recent NYC performances include critically acclaimed performances in Purcell鈥檚 Fairy Queen (Dell鈥橝rte Opera Ensemble) and Heartbreak Express (Rhymes With Opera, world premiere). Peter performs in concert regularly in the United States and in the Middle East.
Peter is an inaugural recipient of the Joan Frey-Boytim Award for Independent Teachers (NATS), and he holds a Doctor of Music degree in voice from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he served as a visiting faculty member. His articles on singing, music education, and entrepreneurship are regularly featured in Classical Singer Magazine. He holds a Master鈥檚 degree in voice from the Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelor鈥檚 degree in voice from Illinois Wesleyan University.
