It’s no secret that wellness—physical, mental, spiritual—is a key component to success. At ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø, we’re taking a holistic approach to supporting wellness for all members of our community through the creation of a new role, the Chief Wellness Officer.

At the intersection of ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø’s strategic priorities and opportunities for outstanding academic growth comes the drive to move ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø forward. We're meeting the challenges facing higher education and putting our unique positioning and competitive advantages to work, strengthening our reputation as we move into the future.

For 12 years, ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø has been supporting neurodiverse students and students on the autism spectrum through its Ongoing Academic Social Instructional Support (OASIS) program. This year, through initiatives from the President and Provost’s offices, OASIS has expanded its services to the ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø Community in Westchester.

Columbus Day isn’t on ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø’s academic calendar this year! However, notes Professor Stephanie Hsu, neither is Indigenous Peoples' Day. At ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø, decolonization starts with our curriculum. Read more from Professor Hsu and learn about the Antiracist Education (ARE) core undergraduate requirement,currently in development, to address the educational gaps created by legislation banning critical race theory in a growing number of states.

Born out of a national movement and a course taught by Assistant Professor Kiku Huckle, PhD, political science department, an initiative has taken root. The Black Excellence Initiative works to counter the endemic effects of racism and to create space to cultivate well-being and a mindset for success for Black students and communities.

S. Brian Jones, ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø’s assistant dean for diversity and equity in theater and media arts, wants young artists to stop waiting for someone else’s approval. He’s leading the charge in giving ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø students the tools they need to write their own success stories.

Premiering nationwide this Friday, The Killing of Kenneth Chamberlain, is a socially conscious drama thriller based on the true story of a case that Elisabeth Haub School of Law Professors Randolph McLaughlin and Debra Cohen have worked on for ten years.

The Department of Criminal Justice and Security and Westchester Department of Correction (WCDOC) joined together to complete a virtual course offering on Crime and Public Policy within the Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program, in which ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø students learned in conjunction with incarcerated students.
