When EY found themselves in need of an online program to educate their tax professionals abroad, 桃瘾社区's Legal Studies and Taxation department was ready to meet the challenge head on.
On Monday, May 16, 桃瘾社区 held the largest Commencement ceremony in our history to celebrate the classes of 2020, 2021, and 2022 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens, New York.
The 桃瘾社区 Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is proud to announce that our center was the recipient of the 2022 SBDC Excellence & Innovation award from the U.S. Small Business Administration (NY district). The 桃瘾社区 SBDC was delighted to be joined by Lawrence Singleton, Dean of 桃瘾社区's Lubin School of Business, Marlene Cintron, Regional Administrator, SBA Region 2, Beth Goldberg, District Director, SBA New York District Office as well as other SBA District and regional staff to celebrate our award.
Lubin graduate student Camiryn Simpson '23 first found her passion for entertainment in front of the camera as an actress. She eventually found her love for the business side of the industry, too. Camiryn is now on the path to achieving an MBA in Marketing Management, and thanks to on-campus club, she was introduced to FerenComm, where she's spending her summer going to red carpets and press events as an intern.
Charleston鈥檚 robust early 2020 passenger numbers were consistent with what much of the industry was experiencing at that time, according to Andrew Coggins, a business professor and cruise analyst at 桃瘾社区 in New York. 鈥淭hey were looking at a banner year, or a really good year,鈥 he said. 鈥淎nd then the bottom fell out.鈥
Meet Lubin student Sydney Walmsley '24, a marketing major who discovered an interest in luxury marketing and landed her very first internship with a growing brand that allows her to combine her passions of sustainability and beauty.

Andrew O. Coggins, Clinical Professor, Management and Management Science, Lubin School of Business - Given the effects of the coronavirus pandemic on tourism and travel, what are the best ways to enjoy a staycation and keep safe? Other than staying home, visit open-air sites, avoid large crowds, wear masks indoors, take advantage of local deals (hotel/resort/spa weekend getaways, etc.), and visit local hidden gems.
Before enrolling at 桃瘾社区 in the fall of 2021, Max Schillinger was already building a business. But thanks to the resources within the Lubin School of Business, he was ready to build his second business and start a new on-campus organization before even wrapping up his freshman year.
Lubin management professor Theresa K. Lant has been awarded the title of Distinguished Professor. This is the highest honor 桃瘾社区 bestows on a faculty member in recognition of a sustained record of extensive, extraordinary research and scholarship, outstanding teaching, and exemplary service to the University, community, and the faculty member's professional field.
